These are not generic automotive how-tos. Each test keeps its 2002 application, setup, measured result and stop point. If the supplied information stops before a pin-level circuit test, FPV stops there too.

How the diagnostic system works

  1. Start with the symptom tree, not the tool.
  2. When the tree calls for a measurement, open the linked exact test.
  3. Perform the test under the stated conditions and record the result.
  4. Use PASS or FAIL to return to the correct diagnostic branch.
  5. After any repair, repeat the failed test and then verify the original complaint.

Prove the battery and side-terminal connections before starter, charging or draw diagnosis.

FUEL

Fuel-pressure test

55–60 psi commanded-pump test plus one-minute pressure-retention branch.

COOLING

Cooling-system pressure test

Cold-system pressure check with a two-minute hold requirement.

COOLING

Pressure-cap test

Verify rated-pressure hold and release behavior before deeper cooling diagnosis.

Thermostat test

Measured opening/closing behavior instead of guessing from symptoms.

Cooling-fan function test

Low/high scan-tool commands before relay or motor isolation.

CHARGING

Generator cable voltage-drop test

Loaded positive and ground path checks at 2,500 RPM; 0.5 V maximum per path.

Protected meter insertion, 15-minute sleep period and reserve-capacity-based limit.
