Strange 12-Bolt: ABS Compatibility Is Configuration-Specific

The manufacturer supports factory-brake/ABS use, but the hardware required changes with the rear speed-sensing system.

APPLICATION: 1993–2002 Camaro/Firebird/Trans Am applications using the Strange F-body 12-bolt street rear. Verify current manufacturer configuration before purchase.

3-channel ABS

Strange documents a differential-mounted reluctor arrangement and supplies its corresponding ABS sensor for the 3-channel configuration.

4-channel ABS

For the 4-channel arrangement, Strange documents reluctor rings on the axle shafts and requires the applicable OEM rings to be provided for assembly.

Brake hardware changes by year

Strange lists different factory-brake hardware requirements for 1993–1997 versus 1998–2002 applications.

Torque-arm caution

The manufacturer warns that an aftermarket torque arm may require modification. Rear-end fitment does not prove torque-arm fitment.

FPV RULE
OBSERVE → MEASURE → ISOLATE → PROVE → REPAIR → VERIFY. Do not turn a symptom, DTC or catalog fitment label into a parts order.
