Adjustable Panhard Bar After Lowering

Lowering changes suspension position through its travel. On the fourth-gen F-body's lateral rear-axle locating system, that can leave the axle sitting off-center at the new ride height. Measure the car that exists today before buying or adjusting parts.

Start with the complaint

Diagnostic path

Verify ride height and tire pressure → place the car on level ground at normal loaded ride height → compare wheel/tire position side-to-side → inspect the panhard bar, mounts, bushings/joints and rear-axle installation → identify any aftermarket rear axle or relocation hardware → only then decide whether lateral re-centering is actually needed.

DO NOT ADJUST YET: A visible offset or rub complaint does not prove the panhard bar is the only cause. Wheel offset, tire size, damaged mounts, axle installation, body tolerance and other suspension changes can alter clearance.

Modified-car checkpoint

Record the installed springs, panhard bar, rear axle, lower-control-arm hardware, torque arm, wheel size/offset and tire size. Do not assume the VIN describes the current suspension.

After any adjustment, verify clearance through normal suspension movement and recheck fasteners using the hardware manufacturer's instructions.
