Modified-Car Brake Compatibility Checklist
A brake conversion can bolt on and still be wrong for the car around it.
APPLICATION: Modified 1993–2002 Firebird / Formula / Trans Am. Diagnose the hardware actually installed today; VIN only establishes the original configuration.

- Rotor diameter, thickness and offset.
- Adapter/bracket and spindle modification.
- Hose routing and full-lock/suspension travel clearance.
Wheel/tire
- Exact wheel model/size/offset.
- Template-confirmed caliper clearance.
- Tire traction and intended use.
Rear system
- Stock or swapped axle.
- Rear brake package and rotor offset.
- Mechanical parking brake retained.
- Wheel-speed sensing retained as required.
Electronic controls
- ABS configuration.
- Dynamic rear proportioning on applicable later cars.
- TCS/NW9 on applicable cars.
- No warning lamps or implausible wheel-speed data after the conversion.

DO NOT APPROVE THE COMBO YET
“Bolts on,” “fits 18s,” or “everyone runs it” is not a complete compatibility verdict. Verify hydraulic, electronic, mechanical and clearance functions together.
FPV RULE
OBSERVE → MEASURE → ISOLATE → PROVE → REPAIR → VERIFY. Compatibility means the whole system works together—not merely that two parts can be bolted together.
