2002 Firebird Horns Inoperative

A silent horn system can be horn units, feed/control, wiring or steering-wheel command. Diagnose the circuit before replacing parts.

APPLICATION: 2002 Pontiac Firebird / Formula / Trans Am. Configuration-specific equipment must match the vehicle before applying a circuit path.

Confirm the complaint

Determine whether both horns are silent and whether the symptom is constant or intermittent.

Inspect accessible components

Check connectors, wiring and horn mounting/condition before deeper diagnosis.

Separate command from output

Verify the horn circuit receives a command and that usable power/ground reaches the horn side under load.

SIR SAFETY GATE

Do not probe or disassemble steering-wheel/SIR components casually. Follow the factory SIR disabling procedure before service that enters the airbag area.

FPV RULE
OBSERVE → MEASURE → ISOLATE → PROVE → REPAIR → VERIFY. A symptom or DTC is a starting point, not a parts verdict.
