CODE ≠ FAILED PART

Understand the DTC Before Buying Parts

Two codes naming the same system can test completely different failure types. Identify what the diagnostic actually monitors before replacing a component.

P0751 · 4L60E

Performance. Commanded shift behavior does not match expected transmission response. Do not treat it as proof the solenoid coil is electrically bad.

P0753 · 4L60E

Electrical circuit. Open/short/control-circuit diagnostic for Shift Solenoid A.

P0446 · LS1 EVAP

Vent/restriction performance. Possible restriction can involve the vent valve, filter, hose or canister. It does not authorize vent-solenoid replacement by itself.

P0449 · LS1 EVAP

Vent electrical/output-driver circuit. Diagnose the electrical path before replacing the valve.

P0335 · 1996 LT1

Can involve CKP circuit, Optispark low-resolution reference or mechanical correlation/timing-chain wear. Do not replace the CKP sensor from the code alone.

P1626 · applicable LS1 theft

Fuel-enable/theft logic can produce start/stall or no-start symptoms. Applicable factory material also calls out the GAGE fuse in the diagnostic path.

USE THE CODE AS A ROUTE
Preserve Freeze Frame/Failure Records, verify application, identify whether the DTC is performance/electrical/plausibility, then run the applicable test. Replacement comes after isolation.
