About F-Body Parts Verdict
F-Body Parts Verdict is an independent 1993–2002 Firebird / Formula / Trans Am reference built from a mechanic’s point of view: verify the application, test the system, prove the failure, then choose the part.
Why FPV exists
I built FPV because fourth-gen owners are constantly forced to sort factory information, old forum posts, vendor claims and modified-car advice into one usable answer. The goal is to make that information easier to use in the garage without pretending every year or every modified car is the same.
How I publish information
Factory specifications stay tied to the year, engine and test condition I can support. If I cannot verify a hard value well enough to publish it, I would rather leave it out. Diagnostics are written to prove the failed branch before a Parts Verdict recommends replacement.
Evidence labels
Factory verified means the hard value or procedure is supported for the application shown. Manufacturer verified is used when a component maker’s documentation controls the aftermarket part or installation. Modified-car / aftermarket evidence identifies guidance that cannot honestly be presented as one untouched GM factory procedure.
Modified cars
Many surviving F-bodies are no longer stock. Modified-car guides are labeled separately because they may combine factory baselines, manufacturer documentation and modification-aware diagnostic reasoning rather than one untouched factory procedure.
See something wrong?
Use the Support/contact route and include the year, engine, transmission or RPO involved plus the source or measurement that conflicts. Specific evidence is much more useful than “I heard a different number.”
Independent site
FPV is independent and is not affiliated with General Motors. Affiliate links help support the site, but they do not change the diagnostic sequence or the verdict required before a part earns replacement.
